Our History

The Reason

Tina Bensman, founder and director of The Chakra House, had her first clairvoyant vision at a young age and continues to see, feel and hear energy. (This will become important in the next paragraph.) While training at various psychic development schools, she was disappointed in the methods many schools used to devalue everyone's natural gifts. Tina truly believes that EVERYONE has the ability to work with energy in their own unique way.

The Vision

While lying in bed one evening thinking about these things, Tina suddenly got a flash vision. The name, "The Chakra House" with a vertical logo of the 7 major chakras. The logo and name were so vivid in her mind that her whole body reacted. This vision was obviously resonating with her very core....and the story continues.

The Beginning

Tina began to see clients individually for counseling and energywork services out of her home under the name The Chakra House. She used the logo intuited in her vision too, but changed it to the a horizontal direction just like the one used now. Eventually her family moved to Madison, WI and she continued her private practice here.

The Dream

In 2008, Tina went to a high school reunion. In high school, she was the girl that had to document everything, so they watched a video tape of interviews from her senior year of where they thought they'd be in 10 years. After Tina and her friends relived the ridiculous fantasies, they decided to tape an updated version - where they will be in another 10 years to watch in 2018. In Tina's interview, She describes owning a place exactly like The Chakra House.

After returning home from the reunion in late September, Tina thought, "Why 10 years? Why not now?!" Immediately she heard that 330 W. Lakeside had some space to lease with a studio. Since Tina and her family live on Lakeside Street it seemed too good to be true, but it wasn't. Literally 1 month and 2 weeks after her reunion, she signed the lease, painted, layed bamboo flooring, purchased products, and on December 6th, The Chakra House officially opened it's doors.

The Move

Almost exactly 4 years later, The Chakra House relocated to the beautiful City Station building in Madison. This move allowed Tina to host holistic and therapeutic practitioners and offer many more individual services including massage, skin care and so much more. The location offered a much more convenient spot for all residents of Madison to find.

The Evolution

Now The Chakra House continues to carry on it's mission of creating a safe space for everyone to explore their unique intuitive abilities and create wholeness in their lives.
